Clinical Supervision

For associate therapists of all backgrounds, clinical supervision toward licensure is a fundamental part of your formation and professional development.

Choosing a clinical supervisor that you trust and that you feel both supported and challenged by is a crucial part of your journey.

My approach to supervision is similar to my therapeutic practice - person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I hold clinicians to a high standard because I believe our clients deserve the best of our care, and I also care deeply about our own care and sustainability in the field. My focus is three-fold…

Care for You

As a clinical supervisor, I hold that each clinician’s life matters just as deeply as each of our clients. In supervision, we talk about how you are handling stress, countertransference, vicarious trauma, burnout, and more. While supervision is distinctly not therapy, I invite you to reflect on your own processes and provide a supportive space to both sustain and grow.

Care for Your Clients

Navigating complex clinical situations always benefits from multiple perspectives. As clinicians, we hold a responsibility to seek consultation whenever appropriate, and for associate-level practitioners this is a liberating requirement! We can’t learn everything all at once. In supervision, we will collaborate to assess and explore options to care for your clients.

Care for the Field

Healing professions, and social work in particular, have much to celebrate and much room to grow. I care about supporting individuals, their agencies, and the field as a whole. This can require a balance of both critique and respect as we navigate challenging ethical situations, unjust systems, and harm and repair. I want to be here, among and alongside the community, for all of it.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Washington State Approved Supervisor.

I offer both individual and group supervision formats, though groups are dependent on having sufficient supervisees interested at a time.

Please Note: Supervisor requirements vary by state and by license. I am glad to supervise licensure candidates from fields other than Social Work, though each supervisee is responsible for ensuring they receive adequate supervision from a supervisor within their license as required
